| Marie (nee Moody) Sturgis, 83, died May 6, 2012 at her home in Lake Forest, IL.
A service will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 E. Westminster Ave., Lake Forest, IL on May 12 at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Sturgis was born on February 12, 1929 in Birmingham, AL, to Andrew and Katherine Moody. She grew up in Birmingham and graduated from the University of Alabama. In 1954 she married Hugh Milton Jones, also from Birmingham. Mr. Jones died in 1991. Together, they had three sons, Hugh Milton Jr., Andrew Edwards Moody and Allan Nelson Jones. Her son Andrew, who married Brenda Carvell, died in 1994. Hugh Jones Jr. is married to the former Adrienne Colgate and they have two daughters; Harriet Colgate and Bridgit Xavier. Allan Jones has two daughters Katherine Chandler and Hannah Elizabeth.
Marie was preceded in death by her second husband, John Athey and her third husband, Robert Sturgis.
Marie was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She had a gentle personality except when at the contract bridge table where she excelled as a regional master.
