| Gerald T. Havey, M.D., 83, of Lake Forest, died April 30, 2012 at Westmoreland Nursing Center. Dr. Havey was board certified and recently served on the staffs of Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan since 1985, Condell Medical Center in Libertyville since 2001 and served on the hospital staff of St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan from 1980 until it closed in 2005. In 1948 he graduated from Marquette University in Pre-Med and in 1952 from Marquette’s School of Medicine receiving his M.D. From 1952-1953 he served his internship rotation at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee. From 1953-1955 he served as a Commissioned Officer in the Medical Corp of the U. S. Army (Germany). He served his residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he also completed his Post Graduate Specialty in Gastroenterology (1958-1959). Dr. Havey then began his private, solo practice in Lake Forest (1959-1984). Dr. Havey's active medical practice spanned over 50 years. Father of Thomas J., Terence P., Maureen E. (Ed McMillen), Michael (Jill) and Brian R. Havey; Grandfather of Lauren T. and Ellen T. Havey. Funeral mass 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17 at the Church of St. Mary, Lake Forest.
