John T. Walsh "Tom", 91 of Lake Bluff passed away peacefully July 27, 2018 at Highland Park Hospital.
A World War II veteran, he served in the 185th Infantry in the Philippines and the Marine Bureau XXIV Corps Army of Occupation in Korea.
As a resident of Clearwater, Florida, Tom served on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Clearwater and as a Trustee at Morton Plant Hospital.
A boating enthusiast, Tom also enjoyed travel and relaxing with a good book.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen Walsh (nee Graham); Children Patricia Walsh Hummel (Larry), Susan Walsh Myers, Kathleen Walsh Araujo, John T. Walsh, Jr., Ann Walsh Rubin (David), Mary E. Walsh-Steele; Grandchildren Thomas Hummel (Kelly), Catherine Hummel Linnenbrink (Jason), Matthew Hummel, Shannon Myers (Dan Zarzynski), Rachel Araujo-Newton (Sean), John Edward Araujo, Aaron Walsh Rubin, Benjamin Walsh Rubin, Grady WIlliam Steele, Bonnie Rose Steele, Faith Steele; and four great-grandchildren, John Hummel, Edward Hummel, Ava Linnenbrink and August Linnenbrink.
Visitation Thursday 10 a.m. Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest. Funeral mass 11 a.m. St. Mary Catholic Church, 175 E Illinois Road, Lake Forest.
