Lois Ann Morahan, age 87 of Lake Bluff, IL and Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully early Christmas morning. Loving wife of Joseph E. Morahan Jr.; devoted mother of Joseph (Judy Winnick), Patricia (Angelo) Bufalino, Craig (Rosie Janito), Erin (Michael) Hughes, Noel (Frank) Verducci, J.S., and Lois (Philip) Sheridan. Cherished grandmother to Shannon (Caleb) Durling, Joseph (Tiffany) Morahan IV, James (Lauren) Morahan, Michael Morahan, Katie (Christopher) McCarney, Michael (Hillary) Bufalino, Thomas (Vanessa) Bufalino, Kevin (Kara) Bufalino, Dominick (Lauren) DeAngelis, Devin DeAngelis, Emily (Kurt) Pfannenstiel, Jack Verducci, Cammy Verducci, Jack Morahan, Dawson Morahan, Annie Morahan, Philip Sheridan III, Faelyn Sheridan, and Madeline Sheridan; and beloved great-grandmother of 11.
Lois was born into this life on August 31, 1930 and was raised in Yonkers, New York by Mary Frances and John Symonds. There Lois met the love of her life, Joseph. Joe and Lois were married in 1951. They soon moved to the Chicago area (Evanston/Deerfield/Bannockburn) where Lois and Joe raised their seven children. Lois and Joe have spent the past thirty years residing in Stuart, FL. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; her life revolved around her family.
Lois’ rare and incredible sense of style and fashion was well known in all of her many circles. She shared that style and unique worldview across the North Shore and Florida. Lois and Joe loved to travel, visiting over 75 countries. Lois was an avid reader and a long-time mahjong player. Lois was always the life of the party and “lit up” every room she entered. Lois was loved by her many friends and acquaintances and had a sharp wit and an amazing sense of humor. She was truly a great lady.
Lois will be missed by the 52 members of her immediate family and the many people she touched over the years.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Church of St. Mary, Lake Forest, IL. Burial will be private.
